It was wonderful to hear from you! If you have sent us specific questions in the contact form, those will be addressed by a staff member, but until they are able to be in touch, please continue reading for next steps.
We would love it if you could come through and see the center for yourself on a free tour. If no time works for you, please email me, and I can coordinate. http://www.birthcenterofchicago.com/schedule-a-tour
Our goal is to have a low-tech/high-touch, evidence-based approach to pregnancy and birth in a midwifery-led care setting. Our birth center will have a big living room and kitchen for clients and families to enjoy. We have three clinical rooms to care for clients prenatally and in-house lab work and ultrasound. We are creating two birthing suites for families to labor, birth, and recover in, all of which will have the comforts of home.
We utilize nearby Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center as our transfer partner if anything should need closer attention/prompt response at any point.
We will be contracting to be in-network with most insurances; so far we are in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans. We will be happy, in the meantime, to perform a VOB (verification of benefits) to see what your responsibility would be. We do a VOB for all clients as a part of our registration fee, but for folks looking to explore options before becoming a client, the VOB can be performed for $50 after you take a tour. If you choose to become a client, that would work towards the registration fee, and only an additional $150 would be necessary to establish care.
We will offer a pre-payment discount to those patients without insurance or who have high deductibles and prefer to pay out of pocket. The out-of-pocket costs for prenatal and labor support are a flat rate of $7500. It is possible things may arise during pregnancy that would warrant more tests or ultrasounds, and those would be in addition to the $7500.
We will be accepting Medicaid once we are approved, which we anticipate happening later this summer or fall.
If you would like to become a client of ours, please sign up for a tour; our first step is to ensure you understand what we offer here and if our center aligns with your birth plans and health needs. http://www.birthcenterofchicago.com/schedule-a-tour
