Tanesha Gunn (she/her) was born and raised in Chicago.

Tanesha got drawn to working at the Birth Center of Chicago for the autonomy and one-on-one attention the clients receive. She feels it is essential that clients feel safe and seen during their pregnancy. She wants to help build that space and support people through education and advocacy.

Tanesha spends her free time reading, swimming, and spending time with her family. She tries to find humor in life and finds it helps take the hard edges off of life. Tanesha believes it takes a village to raise children, which starts before birth, and she is happy to be a part of that!

Tanesha strongly feels teaching and creating an accessible curriculum is essential to healthcare and advocacy. Her ambition is to help close the gap in maternal mortality rates and disparities that primarily affect underserved communities through education of informed consent and advocacy, and class topics.

Tanesha is approachable, knowledgeable, and supportive, and when she needs to unwind or recharge, she prefers to unplug and travel.
